This is the final Nordstrom find, on sale for over half off. I have a similar dress that is black, but I’ve had my eye on this pink one for over a year. Aah free shipping - it’s like bringing the mall to my house without the obnoxious kids.

OH man I cannot even explain how excited I am about the playoffs. Seriously. So, amid my shopping for dresses and boots, I stopped in at the Nike store and picked up this new cubs shirt for $15!

If this fits and I keep it, it will definitely be a splurge item. I limit pretty much all of my big wardrobe spending to things for work that I can wear at least 3 seasons and for multiple years. This dress, however, would be for going out. I suppose with a sweater over the top I might be able to make it work for work, but that is not my intent. Now that I go on dates, I want a date dress.

Notice the really great details like the fuchsia piping on the neck.

For a year, I have been on the hunt for a pair of brown shoes and also a pair of brown boots. It shouldn’t be that hard, should it? Yet I have not been able to find something that I really love, which is my minimum threshold for buying something. Those LAMB boots were great in the picture, but made me look like a prostitute in real life. I’ve sent back 3 other pairs of brown boots. The same goes for the shoes. Today, though, I ordered a pair of both by Maxstudio that I think will solve my problems.

Next the boots. These aren’t as adorned as the others I’ve looked at, but the Zulli boots I ordered from there last year were amazing. I figured these will be nearly as good.

Free shipping is a great thing, because it lets me order stuff and try it on without guilt. I found a few such items at Nordstrom this week (thanks to my Shop It To Me email), all on sale, including this DVF top for more than half off. (The model looks a bit creepy, doesn’t she?)

I found a couple sale items at Neiman Marcus . This is one of the two dresses I ordered to try on (horay for free shipping!). I love the cut and style, but I tend to avoid the neutrals in my closet. This will have to be really perfect for me to keep it.

This was a sale find at Neiman Marcus. It really allows me to embrace my love of color and prints. The sleeves worry me a bit, but I couldn’t resist these colors and a DVF dress on sale.

The brown boots I ordered fit fine, but they are not especially fabulous. These, on the other hand, certainly are. They look a bit shiny in the picture, but they aren’t patent - just normal leather. My only worry is that the platform might look too high for me to wear these to work, but we’ll see after I try them on. I love the spectator pumps I got from LAMB last year, and I’m hoping these are as great.

Alas, this Badgley Mischka dress is not available in my size. Otherwise, I’d have it!

Ah, socks. I rarely wear them. I have little ankle socks for home during the winter, I got barefoot during the summer. However, with boots I always wear them and the ankle ones don’t work. The problem is that I only have 2 pairs, and I wear my boots more often than that, so I’m always frantically washing or searching. To solve this, I bought 8 new pairs of argyle socks from the gap. They were cheap and will make my life much easier come cold times.
