I am trying to establish a new rule for myself that if I really really love something (not just a passing love, but something I keep going back to look at), I should just buy it. My wardrobe is very small despite all the time I spend shopping.
Earlier this week I was in Boston, and saw these shoes at the Steve Madden store. I’ve been wanting them since the fall, but haven’t bought them. They aren’t even expensive. I should have bought them, too, because I could have really used them for the trip I’m taking today.
So, last night I went searching around to buy them online. They are in a lot of online shoe stores. When buying online, I cannot say enough about how great FatWallet is. They have agreements with hundreds of stores such that if you go through the link on FatWallet’s site, you get a percentage of the purchase back to your FatWallet account. Once you earn $25 , you can request a check. I’ve received well over $100 back in the last year from them. Most places (Nordstrom, Saks, Old Navy, Gap) give something from 2%-5%, but the online shoe stores are very competitive.
I looked around and found these at Shoes.com for $74.99, $5 off the normal price. Then, I had a code for 8% off (JAN8OFF), which brought it down to about $69. Via FatWallet, I got an extra 13% off, so the final price was only $60 (that’s $20 off retail). Too bad I won’t have them today for the trip, but the deal was worth it.
