New: Kate Spade Sunglasses

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

I am in need of sunglasses that don’t come from a gas station. This weekend on Smart Bargains I found the Kate Spade Rowen on sale, so I got them. I’m usually hesitant to buy sunglasses online because I should  try them on first. However, shipping was free so it wouldn’t have cost anything if I didn’t like them. They came yesterday and they are great! Now I can check sunglasses off my list of things I need. There’s more on that list, though. Tune in tomorrow…

New: Sorrelli Montana Sky

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

I have got to stop buying things this month…good thing February is almost over. At Jewels for the Soul the Sorrelli Montana Sky collection was on sale for half off. I didn’t need this, but I’ve loved the Montana Sky creamy yellows and blue. It will go nicely with all the navy I have. I got the necklace and earrings for less than $125.

Design: Night Owl

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I am a night owl. To celebrate those of us who do not like to wake up when there are single digits before the : on the alarm clock, here is my new Night Owl design.

A plain old daytime owl will be coming soon for those of you who are sick enough to like mornings.

Updates: Many items

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

I admit it: I am a chronic returner. I guess that happens when shopping online a lot. There are a bunch of things I’ve marked here are purchased that didn’t work out. Here’s an update:

Carved Bone Bangle Very disappointing. This is cheap plastic. Sent it back.
Banana Republic Dress Looks terrible. Big puffy skirt, past knee length. The whole look is matronly and unflattering. Why, Banana Republic? You used to make great dresses. They have been so frumpy the last couple years.
Marc Jacobs Top This also ended up being matronly and too voluminous.
jtr535_zi.jpg This just looked cheap and fit terribly. Yet another reason to *never* shop in the juniors department.
Picture 3.png This dress was a little too full on the bottom for my taste. I would have kept it for a party or something, but it wasn’t worth the $150-ish to keep it.

New: Charles David Baci Slingbacks

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

I am trying not to think about how much shopping I’ve done this week. That said, I had to get a pair of black shoes for going out; I only have work shoes right now. I spent a LONG time looking. I ended up getting these Charles David Slingbacks at Piperlime (normally $200, I paid $90).

I like the Kate Spade Lover better, but it’s $275.00 and they aren’t so much better that I’d pay the extra $180.

New: Jenny Han Silk Blouse (from Maneater Threads)

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

Today I discovered the site, Maneater Threads. They have some great stuff. I found this beautiful shirt. It’s very similar to the Marc Jacobs top, but it’s more fitted (exactly what I want).

Want: Nanette Lepore Dress

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

I am a huge Nanette Lepore fan. This dress embodies a lot of why I love her designs. It’s feminine, flirty, and sophisticated. It will take a bit before I can make myself spend the $335 on it, but give me a big coupon code and I’ll snap it up.

As a side note, that bag (by Isabella Fiore) is showing up everywhere. I’m not a bit handbag person, but keep an eye out for it.

New: Carved Bone Bangle

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

I found this great carved bone bangle at Urban Outfitters for just $16. Code MYCITY01 got me free shipping. Pretty nice.

New: Miguelina Top

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

Not new for me, but for my fabulous sister-in-law. This amazing red silk top by Miguelina from Bluefly was snapped up for her to wear to opening night at my brother’s new show.

Design: Abe Froman - The Sausage King of Chicago

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Growing up outside Chicago, watching Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was a right of passage. Everyone I know can recite the script.

In recognition of this truly classic film, I’d like to present the Abe Froman: The Sausage King of Chicago t-shirt, in recognition of the man who shared his lunch reservation.
