The Sartorialist, one of my favorite people, took this photo this week. It was shoe in Milan. I love this girl’s outfit. I would wear it exactly as it is.
I really love rings, but I don’t have many. I own a couple cocktail rings, but those are $30 banana republic specials, not real jewelry. Today I found this one on sale in white gold and sapphire. I love the bold color, and hope it’s a start to my collection.
I am not a flats girl. I wear heels every day, and espadrilles in the summer when I’m casual. Still, I wanted something to slip on and run out in that was not sneakers but not high. I bought these at J Crew today. I like the studs on the side and that they are much more sophisticated than flip flops.
I posted about the J Crew pindot dress, and here is a skirt version. I love that ruffle on the bottom and the way it fits. It’s backordered, but I hope I can get it in the store soon.
I’ve ordered a bunch of stuff in the last couple weeks. I sent almost all of it back. R&R jeans - nope. Rise was way too low. BCBG Shirtdress -
nope. Frumpy. ABS Shirtdress - nope. It wasn’t bad, but it puckered at the hip in a weird way. Marc Jacobs Sunglasses - eh. They were fine, but not worth the money. Anthropologie sweater and coin op skit? No and no. So I’m not much further along than I was before all this. I can make it through the summer with what I have, but I could really use about twice as many clothes as I have now.
What a beautiful dress this is! Again, I have no occasion to wear it, but it’s very pretty, and I love the color.
The dress I posted about a few days ago from Anthropologie arrived in the mail. It is amazing - it looks much better on me than it does in the picture. I really look great so I can’t return that dress. At the same time, it’s not appropriate for work. I tried a few things on and realized a jacket would make it work just fine at the office. After a bit of searching, I found a *perfect* one at H&M. This is close to the actual jacket, and gives you an idea of the look.
I need a second pair of jeans. I love my R&R Kiedis, but they would be improved with a slightly higher rise. I also just need a pair that will be hemmed to my 4″ heels (I stupidly wore one of my few 3″ pairs when I hemmed my others). Today, I found these on eLuxury. They are the Valle, the rise is an inch higher, and check out those cool pockets! There were only 2 pairs left, in a 28 and 29, my two potential sizes. I bought them both and will just send back the pair that doesn’t fit.

The Sartorialist posted this picture on Easter, and I’ve been thinking of it since then. With the exception of the fur collar, I want to be this woman. Her style is impeccable - obviously capturing the mid-century retro I love - and she’s got a guy who is just as perfectly dressed.
