This is a beautiful dress. If I had a party to go to, I would buy it.

Well, Miss Marc arrived, but wasn’t all I expected, so she got sent back.

The orange J Crew sweater also went back. Their sweaters don’t have the structure and shape that I like, and I found a red sweater and white blouse I had went very well with that Nanette Lepore skirt.

I had a very unfortunate trip to New York on Sunday. Most of the stores I wanted to go to had closed by the time I arrived in the evening, but I stumbled into a few good places. One of them was Mango in SoHo. They had a lot of beautiful dresses and I could have spent a long time in there, but I didn’t have much time. I ended up getting this summer dress. It has more volume than I like, but it still looks good on me. I also like how it looks under a sweater or jacket.

H&M almost always has something I like. Today, I got this great retro styled dress. I had an old merchandise credit, so this cost me a total of $10.36.

And, yes, I look a bit zombie like in this photo. It’s been a rough month or two.

It’s getting chillier and I realize that I really need a trench coat. My outerwear situation is not so good. I never had much in the first place, except for a great tomato red coat from J Crew that mom gave me. I wore it until it was threadbare, and am also much smaller now. I replaced it with a beautiful red wool coat from Benetton last year. I also have a tweed car coat. That’s it. I don’t have anything lightweight for when it’s raining, or just a little to cool to go without.

A trench is perfect for that, but so many trenches are missing the structure I really like in my clothes. I found this one at Ann Taylor after a week of searching. I found others I liked better, but none were available anymore. Or, they were Burberry and fabulous and $1700. So I ordered this, and we’ll see if it lives up to my standards.

This is a beautiful dress. I have no occasion to wear it, but I love it.

Wow do I love this trench.

Ok, so I know I just said that I wasn’t sure about the Miss Marc stuff…BUT I found this little pouch on Bluefly for $30 and I couldn’t resist it. Yes, it’s Marc Jacobs. No, it’s not really fashionable. But it makes me laugh and I have a habit of buying things like that.
