I have a pretty big fashion budget. Every time I get paid, a big chunk of my check moves directly to a set of savings accounts. One of these is a fashion account. I set aside an amount every 2 weeks, and can either buy a bunch of stuff, or save up and buy expensive things.
However, this month I bought a house, and every spare cent I had laying around was diverted into my down payment. Many funds for fun spending have been destroyed. This does not mean my fashion budget is gone, but it does mean I haven’t bought nearly as much in the last month as I normally would have. I’m still overwhelmed with what I have to do to the house, so I’m not going to be spending much either.All is not lost, though! I have been saving up my Banana Republic rewards cards. I am a Luxe card member (which means I spend a lot of money there), and I get these little $25 rewards cards every time I spend a certain amount. I had a big stack of them in my wallet, along with a birthday discount, a coupon, etc. So, this week I spent them all on this dress. It cost me nothing, and is very pretty. The website only shows it in black and white, but I got it in blue and white. I did a photoshop job to give you the general idea.If only I could use those coupons for some Christian Louboutin…

Ah, Nanette Lepore. I can always rely on her to make expensive dresses that I love.

This is also “new” rather than new. I bought it back in December with part of that credit at pink mascara that I can’t manage to spend. It’s an Adina ring, and is very versatile. Ultimately, I would like to get a right hand ring for every day wear, but my house is going to be taking up a lot of my disposable income for a while and really - I could buy a lot of shoes for the price of a diamond. So this ring it is for now.

I am not a girl who can resist a cocktail ring. This one from J Crew is great and it would be PERFECT with the strapless BCBG dress I bought at the end of last summer.

This isn’t new-new. I got it around xmas on the Kate Spade sale. It’s the Taryn - Pop Clinton St. It replaces my previous kate spade wallet that was getting a little worn looking. I can’t find an official looking picture anywhere. It looks a bit pin in this photo, but it’s really red with silver.

This is the cover item on J Crew’s catalog this month. I think it’s beautiful in this blue and also in the coral color.

I have this credit at Pink Mascara from a return I made like 6 months ago*. I love this dress that they have, but it would eat up a lot more than my credit.

*Ok. So in theory I’m all for small independent boutiques. However, this Pink Mascara thing is annoying. I bought something that I thought I might like, and when I returned it because it was too big, I could only get a store credit. I don’t even like most stuff they have. Nordstrom or Saks would not give me this problem. Nordstrom has accepted returns months after I bought the item that languished in my closet. I want great customer service, and apparently I need to go to bigger stores to get it.

I am still partial to Christian Louboutin, but these Manolo Blahniks are really fabulous.

This dress strikes me as very Sex and the City. I love it.
